Learning Limerick launched its new Strategic Plan 2026–2030 at Limerick City and County Council, setting out a five-year roadmap to strengthen lifelong learning across Limerick.
The plan was officially launched by Mayor of Limerick, John Moran, on the opening day of the Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival. It sets out priorities focused on promoting lifelong learning opportunities, listening to learners, embedding Learning Limerick in the wider lifelong learning ecosystem, and strengthening organisational sustainability.
As Chair of the Learning Limerick Steering Group, I was pleased to highlight the strong partnership approach behind the plan, the commitment of the Steering Group, and the importance of Learning Limerick’s active membership of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities and the Irish Network of Learning Cities.
This work matters because lifelong learning is not just about formal education. It is about confidence, inclusion, community wellbeing, workforce resilience and the ability of people and places to adapt.
