In September 2025, the Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival was featured by the Limerick Post following Learning Limerick’s participation in an international learning cities forum in Évry-Courcouronnes, France.
I travelled as part of Learning Limerick’s representation at the European and North American Learning Cities Forum, where I presented on the success of the Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival, the Limerick Learning Ambassador programme, and the collaborative approach that underpins Learning Limerick.
The article highlights Limerick’s role as part of a wider Irish presence at the forum, alongside Cork, Waterford and Belfast, and reflects the strength of local partnership across education, community, business and lifelong learning.
This was an important opportunity to showcase Limerick internationally and to learn from other cities working to make lifelong learning more accessible, inclusive and practical for people of all ages.
