NOVAS Business Breakfast 2026 supports vital homeless services in Limerick

In February 2026, I was pleased to be part of the organising committee for the NOVAS Business Breakfast at the Castletroy Park Hotel, a major local event bringing together members of Limerick’s business, civic and community sectors in support of NOVAS services.

The event highlighted the ongoing challenges of homelessness and addiction, while also recognising the important work carried out by NOVAS across Limerick, the Mid-West and beyond.

NOVAS provides vital supports including emergency homeless accommodation, social housing, family and child support services, recovery services and street outreach.

The Business Breakfast also supported the NOVAS Street Outreach Service, a volunteer-led team working in Limerick City each evening to provide warm food, hot drinks, clothing and practical support to people in need.

Being involved in the organising committee was a reminder of what can happen when local business, public service, voluntary effort and community commitment come together around a real social challenge.

Events like this matter because they create practical support, raise awareness, and connect people who want to make a difference. Strong communities are built not just through policy or services, but through partnership, generosity and local action.
